General Information
Classification and Purpose
The Baton Rouge Soccer Association (BRSA) conducts the United Cup for Premier teams registered with the United States Youth Soccer Association (USYSA).  The United Cup is sanctioned through the Louisiana Soccer Association (LSA) and open to boys and girls premier teams from U-10 through U-19.  U11 - U12 WILL PLAY 8V8.  The United Cup’s purpose continues to be to foster and advance the highest level of competitive soccer while promoting the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, and courage.
 
Entry Requirements
Teams wishing to enter United Cup XXIII should submit an online application form on the with the appropriate entry fee by September 17, 2009.  The entry fee is $300 for U-10, $375 for U11-U12, and $450 for U13 - U19.  Teams will be accepted to participate based on their competitive record in order to guarantee quality matches for all teams.  
 
All players participating must be registered to the team on which they are playing, and a player may only participate with one team in the tournament.  Team rosters are limited to eighteen players.  Guest players are allowed per LSA bylaws:  a maximum of three guest players on a team traveling from outside of Louisiana, with the proper loan papers. 

Team Registration
Team Registration will register at the site headquarters for the field on which they play at least
one hour prior to their first game. All teams must present:
  • Five copies of their official roster, listing all coaches and players with jersey numbers (copies for BRSA to keep) 
  • Valid USYSA picture ID cards to match their roster 
  • Notarized Medial Authorization Forms for all players 
  • Teams from outside of Louisiana must also furnish an approved USYSA Travel Permit with their Travel Roster.
  • Loan papers for any guest players participating on their team

 

 

Game Information
All teams will be scheduled to play at least three games, using the LSA Tournament format.
Depending on the number of teams in an age group, bracket play followed by playoff(s) or a
round-robin format may be scheduled. Every effort will be made to form USYSA single age
divisions; however the Tournament Director reserves the right to combine age groups if needed.
Games will be played at BREC’s Burbank Soccer Complex. No alcoholic beverages are allowed
at either park.

FIFA Laws of the Game will apply except as amended in the Playing Rules.

Rain Out Policy

In the event of a inclument weather effecting the progress of the tournament, the following steps will be taken:

 

  • In event that the tournament must be cancelled prior to the kick off of the first game, 75% of each teams tournament fee will be refunded. 
  • In the event that the tournament must be cancelled after the first game has been kicked off, 25% of each teams tournament fee will be refunded.
  • In the event that the tournament is cancelled after the first day of games has been played, then there will be no refund of tournament fees at that point.
